The Lowry City Council Meeting was called to order on March 3, 2026 at 7:00 pm by Dan Sutton with the Pledge of Allegiance. |

CONSENT AGENDA: |
Approve February’s minutes, Treasurer’s report, pay bills Ck 13872- 13898 and payroll checks 3008 to 3013. Motion made by Virgil to approve consent agenda; second by Jackie. All voted aye, motion carried |

VISITOR’S COMMENTS: |
Brian Bye- Widseth- Talked about future project on Poplar and Highway 55. Project could potentially add sewer to watermain project on North Poplar, to be covered under the loan. Project is still pending state approval. Plan to upgrade hydrants by the elevator and baseball fields. Consideration about adding underground sump pump pipes for Poplar Street to help with summer flooding. Also discussed future plans for placing sidewalk on Isabella and North Poplar for park entrance. |

OLD BUSINESS: |
Discussed previous issue with daycare parking, county considering replacing stop signs to aid in traffic. No further issues have been shared regarding parking situation. Discussed utility bill assessments. One account was taken care of so far. |

NEW BUSINESS: |
Ken W presented to raise pension for fire department from $1900 to $2400 yearly. Motion made by Virgil, seconded by Jackie. All voted aye, motion carried. PFA Resolutions regarding loans for watermain project and well replacements. Motion made by Virgil, seconded by Jackie. All voted aye, motion carried. Discussed possible complication with city ordinance 111 separating clerk/ treasurer position. Still waiting to hear back from attorney on next steps. Will move to next month’s agenda. |

OTHER ITEMS OF DISCUSSION: |
Pope County Humane Society is looking for donations. Through discussion decided we are not able to donate as we are not a non-profit organization. Talked about struggles with Open Gym. Jackie will volunteer to supervise one night a week depending on need to keep hours more consistent. |
